British passport holders are required to pay an entry visa of £10.00 sterling per person (including children) at the airport of entry, this expires after 90 days.

There must be at least 6 months left on your passport.

The ‘season’ starts from the 1st May until the 31st October.

Flight time from the UK is approximately 4 hours and flights are from several UK airports. Kalkan Horizon Property Services can help you arrange your flight.

Transfer from Dalaman airport to Kalkan is approximately two hours and from Antalya airport to Kalkan approximately three and a half hours. Don’t be put off by this travelling time as you will be passing through some of the most beautiful countryside and most breathtaking views in the world. The currency in Turkey is lira, YTL (New Turkish Lira) although UK Sterling and Euros are also accepted. Mastercard and Visa are are widely accepted as are travellers cheques. ATMs (cash points) are also widely available.

Don’t weigh down your luggage with heavy toiletries as anything you can buy in the UK you can buy in Kalkan, giving yourself more room for the goodies you buy!!

The voltage for any appliances you may bring, ie hairdryers etc, is the same as the UK, 220 volts, however, you will need an adapter.

The climate in Turkey is wonderful all year round although in July and August it may rise above 40 degrees centigrade.

The dolmus is the local form of  transport, these are extremely cheap and follow a specified route. The local taxis are obviously more expensive although still very reasonable and many drivers will happily agree to drive you to places of interest and be your driver for the day.
