ABOUT KALKAN
Kalkan is an enchanting place and captures the heart of every visitor many of whom return year after year.
The town of Kalkan nestles at the base of the majestic Toros mountains nestled in a beautiful bay on the jewel-like waters of the fabled Turquoise Coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Looking out over the bay there are islands which appear to float effortlessly upon the sea changing colour as the sun moves across the clear blue sky.
Kalkan is one of the most stunning places along Turkey’s Lycian Coast remaining mainly unspoilt by tourism. The narrow winding streets of Kalkan lead down to the harbour where visitors can relax in one of the excellent waterside restaurants and watch the fishermen landing their catch early in the morning, and return in the evening to eat those very same fish. The streets of Kalkan are lined with whitewashed houses, speciality shops and restaurants whose ornately carved ottoman timber balconies are draped with multi-coloured bougainvillea, it is breathtakingly beautiful.
Dining out is a way of life in Kalkan, for both locals and tourists and Kalkan has a reputed 140 plus restaurants! Kalkan is especially renown for its rooftop restaurants (Kalkan Horizon Property Services are also co-owners of Rami’s Rooftop Restaurant where you will be sure of a warm welcome).
